We stayed at the Military Jetty Caravan Park for 7 days, the perfect time of year to be bay-side on the Sunshine Coast.
You can see Dusty looking unwell, he had cough and fever for the week unfortunately - but it didn't stop him having morning and afternoon bike rides on the beach!
After a tearful farewell to our home the day before, and a reality check during the night that we were sleeping in a caravan with cars driving by, the first day I got up feeling strange - in shock, really. Maxie had me following him down to the shore at dawn, in pyjamas, to forage in the sand and climb the rocks. I took in a deep breath and a slow look around at the peaceful bay and thought, despite feeling the sadness of moving our boys away from our family home, it was all worth it. I would do it all again to be able to give this experience to my little boys. And besides - we'd promised Dusty that he would get to try out every single playground in Australia! So from day 1 we got straight into it. There's Dusty, just a little bit stoked, playground number 1.
And Maxie, at their new local hangout!
We found ourselves picking 2kg of strawberries in the strawberry fields and ate our sweet berries all week.
We visited great-nan-and-pop at their beautiful home by the beach for a home-cooked meal by Nan, walks on the beach, and hugs and farewell until we get back from our big trek.
And Maxie on his scuttle-bug, scooting down Military Jetty...
There was also collecting soldier crabs and shells on the shore, and an opportunity for Siah to stretch his long canine legs!
Having a couple of bbq's with good friends from the sunny coast, as well as seeing Nan & Ron, made our week, it was after all what we came for.
And I managed to sell some copies of Dusty's Wonder Bug too, to local primary schools.
It's been great to unwind after months of hard work, open homes and packing. The sweet life just got better!
Until my next update, love from ... The spontaneity crew :) xx
